A town centre buzzy bistro offering freshly prepared food in a relaxed environment. Friendly and attentive service. Open daily from 11am until late. 2 Course £10 lunch menu available Monday to Saturday. Private hire available at Ongar. Party menu available for special occasions. Children welcome
One of the highlights of Epping High Street. Over the last six or so years that they have been open in Epping they have developed a very consistent level of service and standard. Their fillet steaks, rack of lamb and breast of chicken dishes are all very good and worth a regular visit for. In fact we often compare the quality of steak at other restaurant to the quality and value we get at Clocktower.Recently (July 09) they have started Beef Stroganoff which is really very good. Their desserts have improved dramatically in the last year, but there can still be the odd one that misses the spot. Some being close to perfection (ginger bread ice-cream with a pecan torte, Forest berry crumble). Clocktower is one of our favourite UK restaurants based on price, quality of the food, location for us and friendly service. We are weekly regulars here.

This is a great little place, within walking distance of the station and a stone's throw from Epping high road. During the day the atmosphere is more relavxed with familes in etc. We've taken our small kids in there and they get some colouring and paper etc to keep them quiet while the food's comingDuring the evening it becomes more of a couple's and groups' affair, so best not to take the kids in the evening. Food has always been good whenever we've been in there and they have some very nice specials, and it wasd the first place I'd ever tried monkfish, and I can thoroughly recommend thatIf you're passing there on a Sunday lunchtime after a heavy Saturday night out they also do a very nice and very large full english breakfastSummertime is nice as there's a small patio area at the back which is very pleasant and not overlooked
Great restaurant just off the High Street in Epping. Small but with a good atmosphere. The food is usually excellent and reasonably priced. Service can be a bit haphazard and we've had to send a few things back becauase they were cold (or in the case of a bottle of beer, warm!). Overall though I would recommend for an evening out. Probably best not to take young children.
I took my girlfriend here for a evening meal on a Friday night. We both loved it.
Food was excellent, good wine list and the service was perfect.
The best place we have dined in Epping.
We will go again soon
Hi, I went there to meet friends on Saturday night for a gilrs night out. I had a Salad for starter and the chicken in redwine for main course. We all had a great time. The restaurant was clean and had a relaxed atmosphere. The service was very good as was the wine menu!!
We got quite drunk! I have recommended it to my friends. We plan to meet up next month just for a drink in the bar.
